A proper micro pub with serious ale credentials
The Kentish Belle is exactly what you want in a neighborhood micro pub: unpretentious, focused on quality over quantity, and run by people who clearly care about what they serve. Situated in a converted shop just off Bexleyheath station, it's small but perfectly formed, with pine furniture and a wall of pump clips that tells you everything you need to know. The real draw is the beer—five cask ales on rotation, seven keg options, plus ciders, perries, and a solid spirits range. I've had Verdant East Kent Goldings Green Hop and Thornbridge White Swan here, both excellent, and the staff's knowledge about the lineup is impressive. It's not fancy, but it's authentic in the best way possible.
What sets this place apart is the consistency and the locals who make it their regular haunt. You'll find a mix of station commuters grabbing a quick pint and regulars who know the landlord by name. The single room can get cozy when busy, but there's usually space to settle in with a good ale.
