The Coffee Jar has been a Chalk Farm staple for over 13 years, and it's easy to see why. This unassuming café on Parkway serves some of the best coffee in Camden, sourced primarily from Monmouth with rotating guest roasters keeping things interesting. The space is small and often packed, especially in the mornings when locals queue out the door, but the service is efficient and the coffee is consistently excellent.
The food menu is simple but well-executed. The warmed banana bread with butter is a standout – it's the kind of thing you dream about after you've left. Bacon butties and other breakfast items are solid, and the pastries are always fresh. It's not a place for lingering over a long lunch; this is a grab-and-go or quick sit-down spot where the focus is on quality coffee and simple, well-made food.
