Located on Erskine Road in Sutton New Town, it’s a Greene King property that doesn’t try too hard, which is exactly why it works. You’ll find regulars chatting by the pool table, families enjoying Sunday roasts, and sports fans packed in to watch rugby or football on Sky Sports. The beer garden is a real plus on summer evenings, and the staff genuinely seem to enjoy their work – they’re helpful without being pushy.
Food-wise, it’s solid pub classics: pizzas, burgers, and the usual suspects, all at reasonable prices. The Greene King app’s “Spin to Win” is actually worth using – I’ve won a free pint and a main course here, no catch. It’s not gourmet, but it’s honest, and that’s what you want from a local pub.
