Solid neighborhood Irish bar with great roasts
The Black Sheep is that rare neighborhood bar that actually feels like a neighborhood bar. Located just off Place Flagey in Ixelles, it's become a reliable spot for locals who want decent food and drinks without the pretension. The Sunday roast is genuinely goodâproperly cooked meat with all the trimmingsâand their weekend brunch hits the mark if you're looking to start the day right.
What sets it apart is the atmosphere. It's warm and welcoming, with a mix of regulars and newcomers. The staff clearly knows their stuff when it comes to drinks, whether you're after a classic pint or something more adventurous from their whisky collection. Happy hour runs daily from 4-7pm, which is a nice touch for after-work crowds.
It's not perfectâthe space can get a bit cramped when there's a big match on, and service slows down during peak times. But for a solid, unpretentious bar experience in Ixelles, it's hard to beat. Skip the touristy spots near the Grand Place and come here instead.
