About the Vibe

Tucked away on Esher's High Street, The Albert Arms has quietly become a local favourite for those who appreciate properly done pub food without the pretension. It's the kind of place where you'll find families enjoying Sunday roasts and after-work crowds settling in for a craft pint, all under the same warm, welcoming roof. The new-look space balances modern touches with traditional pub charm, and the fact that you can even book one of their six boutique rooms upstairs makes it a genuine all-rounder.

Solid local pub with great Sunday lunch

The Albert Arms has carved out a solid reputation in Esher's competitive dining scene, and for good reason. The food menu hits that sweet spot between traditional pub fare and something a bit more refined – think lamb shank that's actually tender enough to fall off the bone, and pork belly that's crispy on the outside without being greasy. The Sunday lunch crowd is consistently well-served, and the staff seem to genuinely enjoy what they do, which makes a real difference when you're sitting down for a leisurely meal.

What sets this place apart is the versatility – it works equally well for a quick pint after work, a family Sunday roast, or even a function if you're planning something special. The dog-friendly policy and baby-changing facilities show they've thought about what local families actually need. The bar selection is solid too, with a good mix of craft beers and cask classics that won't break the bank.

It's not quite five-star territory – the service can slow down when it's packed, and the menu, while good, isn't groundbreaking. But for a reliable, well-run pub that treats its regulars like regulars, it's hard to beat in this part of Surrey.
