The Admiral Vernon is one of London's last true time capsules. Built by Courage Brewery in the 1930s to serve the massive Becontree Estate, this pub has managed to keep almost all of its original fittings intact – the dark wood panelling, the separate saloon and private bars, the games room, even the publican's offices behind the counter.
