Red Ninja is a no-frills sushi spot tucked away on Drottningholmsvägen in Kungsholmen. This tiny bar has just a handful of seats, so expect to either grab a quick bite at the counter or order takeaway. The real draw here is the quality of the sushi—think crispy spicy salmon rolls that locals swear by, plus traditional nigiri and experimental rolls that push boundaries without losing what makes sushi special.
Solid sushi, skip the pretense
Red Ninja is exactly the kind of neighborhood sushi joint you stumble upon and keep coming back to. It's small—like, only a few seats small—so don't expect to linger over drinks. But what you do get is seriously good sushi at prices that won't make your wallet cry. The crispy spicy salmon roll is the star here; it's fresh, well-balanced, and appears on almost every regular's order.
The takeaway experience is actually better than eating in. They include miso soup with your order, which is rare for takeaway sushi places in Stockholm. You'll find the staff efficient but not exactly warm—the focus is clearly on getting quality sushi out the door quickly. If you're after a cozy atmosphere or friendly banter, look elsewhere. But if you want solid, fresh sushi without the pretense, this is your spot.
Open Tuesday through Sunday, with lunch hours from 11am to 2pm and dinner from 4pm to 9pm on weekdays. Weekends are shorter hours, so plan accordingly. It's the kind of place that becomes part of your regular rotation once you've discovered it.
