This is a neighborhood park, tucked into the elegant Neustadt district, surrounded by bourgeois villas from the 1880s and the striking Synagogue de la Paix. Created in 1764 by Maréchal de Contades on what was once a firing range, it has the kind of lived-in charm you only get from a park that's been part of daily life for over two centuries. Grab a bench under the trees with a book and you'll understand why this was the bourgeoisie's favorite stroll.
What makes it practical is the accessibility. Reviewers consistently mention how easy it is to reach — plenty of parking along the edges if you're driving, and a tramway station just steps away. Inside, there are two playgrounds for kids, sports fields, bowling (pétanque) courts, and even table tennis.
