Nadia + Kosta is that rare Lichtenberg spot that feels like a Friedrichshain classic without the pretension. Owner Kosta makes you feel like a regular from minute one, and the sidewalk seating on a sunny day is unbeatable. It's small but packed with warmth, great coffee, and homemade cakes that keep you coming back.
Cozy neighborhood cafe with great coffee and homemade cakes
Nadia + Kosta is a charming little cafe tucked away in the Kaskelkiez, right on Türrschmidtstraße. It's small but has an incredible amount of atmosphere, especially when you're sitting outside on the sidewalk in good weather. The owner, Kosta, greets everyone with genuine warmth, making you feel like you belong there from the moment you walk in.
The menu is simple but executed well: think brownies, bagels, focaccia, muffins, and a rotating selection of homemade cakes. The Preiselbeer-Schmandtorte (lingonberry sour cream cake) is a standout. But the real star is the coffee—strong, well-pulled, and perfect for starting your day or taking a break. It's the kind of place where you'll want to linger, people-watch, and come back again and again.
Open mornings and afternoons, it's ideal for a relaxed coffee break or a casual meet-up. While it's easy to miss if you're not looking, that's part of its charm. This is a neighborhood spot that locals love, and it deserves more attention.
