Mine isn't your typical Italian spot in a city drowning in them—it's where Russian chef Aram Mnatsakanov brings a New York-level finesse to Italian classics with a twist. The service is genuinely warm (rare in Berlin), the truffle tortellini is Instagram-famous for good reason, and the wine list leans into natural and biodynamic bottles you won't find everywhere. It's a bit pricey but worth it for a special night out.
Italian Excellence with Warm Service
Mine Restaurant in Charlottenburg is one of those rare Berlin spots that actually delivers on its hype. The interior strikes a perfect balance between elegant and cozy—think Belgian oak tables, sparkly Tom Dixon lamps, and wallpapered ceilings that give it a shabby-chic vibe without feeling try-hard. The service is where Mine truly shines: the staff is attentive, friendly, and genuinely interested in making your evening special. They'll happily pour you wine samples without making you feel like you're wasting their time.
The food is modern Italian with subtle twists that elevate classic dishes. The truffle tortellini is the star—generously topped with thin truffle slices and available with either burrata or veal filling (burrata wins). Other highlights include the crispy sea bass with asparagus and Amalfi lemon zabaione, and the deconstructed melanzane that's surprisingly satisfying. The wine list is curated by natural wine specialist Holger Schwarz, offering a great mix of German, Italian, and French bottles, plus the option to taste rare wines by the glass thanks to their Coravin system. It's not cheap, but for the quality of food, wine, and service, it's worth the splurge.
