Located in the Forestdale Shopping Centre, it’s not the most glamorous spot in Croydon, but once you step inside, you’re greeted by a warm, unpretentious atmosphere that feels like a local secret. The fish is consistently excellent: light, flaky, and perfectly battered, with chips that are golden and crisp. Whether you grab a takeaway or sit down for a relaxed meal, the service is friendly and efficient, and you can tell the McDermott family genuinely cares about what they do.

McDermott’s est le genre d’endroit qui n’a pas besoin de faire d’efforts inutiles—il fait simplement bien les choses. Situé dans le centre commercial de Forestdale, ce n’est pas l’adresse la plus glamour de Croydon, mais une fois à l’intérieur, on est accueilli par une ambiance chaleureuse et décontractée qui donne l’impression d’être dans un secret bien gardé. Le poisson est toujours excellent : léger, fondant et parfaitement pané, avec des frites dorées et croustillantes.
