About the Vibe

Tucked inside the iconic Roundhouse, Made in Camden offers a unique dining experience where art meets cuisine. The space transforms from a buzzing pre-show venue into a chilled, red-and-wood-toned sanctuary once the concerts begin. While the kitchen's output can be hit-or-miss—think rubbery eggs alongside brilliant fusion plates like fennel with salted caramel—the atmosphere and commitment to supporting young artists make it a worthwhile stop for the culturally curious.

Cultural dining with a mixed bag of flavors

Made in Camden is a fascinating experiment in dining within a performing arts venue. The space itself is striking, with its red and wood tones creating a warm, intimate atmosphere that works well once the concert crowds have settled. The menu aims high with fusion flavors—think fennel with salted caramel and feta, or baba ganoush with pomegranate seeds—but execution is inconsistent. You might find yourself marveling at a perfectly crisp calamari with yuzu aïoli one moment and questioning a rubbery soft-poached egg the next.

What really sets this place apart is its mission: every penny goes to the Roundhouse Trust, supporting artistic work with children and young adults. That altruistic angle adds a layer of meaning to your meal that you won't find at many other spots in Chalk Farm. The wine list is thoughtful and reasonably priced, starting at £18 per bottle, and the cocktail selection is solid if not groundbreaking. It's the kind of place you visit when you're in the mood for something culturally rich, even if the food doesn't always hit the mark.
