The basement space has this warm, rustic charm with exposed brick and dim lighting that makes it feel like a secret spot. Their menu is straightforward but executed with care: the smashed avocado with dukkah is a standout, and the poke bowls are fresh, colorful, and generous. Don't leave without trying their house-baked lamingtons—they're the perfect sweet ending to a long lunch.
Service is consistently friendly and knowledgeable, and the coffee from Climpson & Sons is properly specialty grade. It's not fancy, but that's the point. You come here for honest, flavorful food and a relaxed atmosphere where you can actually have a conversation. The two-course dinner deal at £27 is excellent value for the quality.
