Tucked away on Rue de l'Ail, La Corne D'Or is Strasbourg's go-to for a no-frills, authentic Turkish kebab experience that's been serving locals since 1982. The place doesn't do fancy plating or wine pairings—it's all about generous portions of tender lamb and beef wrapped in warm bread, slathered in their signature white sauce that's become legendary among regulars. Skip the tourist traps in Petite France and come here for a quick, satisfying meal that feels like a neighborhood secret.
Solid kebab, legendary white sauce
La Corne D'Or is the kind of place you find when you're tired of overpriced tourist menus and just want something solid. The lamb here is genuinely tender—nothing dry or chewy—and their house white sauce is the real star, creamy and tangy in a way that makes you want to order an extra wrap just to get more of it. Portions are huge, so come hungry or plan to share.
It's not perfect. Some long-time patrons have noticed portions shrinking slightly in recent months, and the sauce selection is limited to just white and red. But for the price and quality, it's still a winner. The staff is friendly, the atmosphere is relaxed and unpretentious, and you'll see a mix of locals grabbing dinner on their way home from work.
