Authentic Indian comfort food with a warm welcome
Indigo Buda is a solid choice for authentic Indian food in the Buda district. The menu is impressively large with over 140 options, making it easy to find something that suits your taste. The thali lunch menu (available weekdays 12-4 PM) offers great value - you get a curry of your choice plus all the fixings like black lentils, basmati rice, flatbread, salad, and vegetable curry for around 4,000 HUF. The Chicken Tikka and Madras Lamb Curry are standouts, and don't skip the naan bread fresh from their tandoori oven. The restaurant feels warm and welcoming with traditional Indian decor, soft lighting, and pleasant background music. Service is friendly and accommodating, and they're happy to handle dietary restrictions with gluten-free and lactose-free options available. It's not the most fancy place in Budapest, but for genuine Indian flavors at reasonable prices, it's hard to beat.
