About the Vibe
Tucked opposite the 18th green at Chingford Golf Course, Holly Trail Cafe is the kind of spot where locals actually hang out. Founder Sharron Norris has created a relaxed haven with a large covered terrace perfect for people-watching while you sip your coffee. The kitchen serves up wholesome, locally-sourced breakfasts and lunches that feel genuinely homemade rather than mass-produced. The real charm here is the outlook—sit by the window or on the terrace and you'll have a view of the golf course and the edge of Chingford Plains. It's not pretentious, it doesn't try too hard, and that's exactly why it works. Whether you're grabbing a quick coffee or settling in for a leisurely meal, the vibe is consistently warm and welcoming.

Your Local Chingford Hideaway
Holly Trail Cafe feels like a secret that locals have been keeping to themselves. Located right opposite the 18th green at Chingford Golf Course, it's the perfect spot to unwind with a coffee or a proper meal. The covered terrace is a standout feature—great for those rainy London days when you still want to feel like you're outdoors. The food is straightforward but well-executed, with a focus on quality ingredients that you can actually taste.
What I appreciate most is the lack of pretension. This isn't a place where you need to dress up or worry about the noise level. It's genuinely a community hub where you'll see regulars by name, and the staff clearly care about making you feel welcome. The opening hours (8am to 4pm) mean it's ideal for breakfast or lunch but you'll need to plan ahead if you're hoping for afternoon tea. Still, for what it does, it does it really well.
The location is a real draw—being adjacent to the golf course and near the Holly Trail walk gives you a sense of being in the leafy suburbs rather than the city. It's the kind of place you'd recommend to a friend who's visiting from out of town and wants to see the real Chingford.
