Tucked away in Libeň, EMA espresso bar is where Prague’s coffee scene breathes easy. Skip the tourist traps and come here for light-roasted specialty coffee that actually tastes like coffee—not burnt bitterness. The staff are genuinely passionate, happy to chat about beans or just nod at your usual order. No paper cups here (they went green in 2024), and the baked goods come from their own bakery nearby, so everything’s fresh.
Honest coffee, zero fuss
EMA in Libeň is the kind of place you’ll keep coming back to without even realizing it. The coffee is consistently excellent—light roasts that highlight the bean’s natural flavors, not charred nonsense. What really sets it apart is the vibe: it’s quiet enough to read or work, but never sterile. The baristas remember your order after two visits and will happily geek out over extraction times if you ask.
The baked goods are a nice touch, especially the focaccia with zucchini and honey or the babaganoush version—simple but thoughtful. And yes, they ditched paper cups entirely in 2024, so bring your own tumbler or use their ceramic mugs. It’s not fancy, but it’s honest, and that’s rare in Prague’s coffee scene.
