Putney’s Riverside Classic
The Duke’s Head has that rare combination of historic charm and modern energy that makes you want to make it your regular spot. The riverside location is unbeatable, especially in summer when you can sip a spritz while watching the Thames flow by. Their Sunday roast is genuinely one of the best in Putney—generous portions, proper Yorkshire puddings, and meat that’s actually tender. It gets packed on race days and during big sports events, but that’s part of the appeal; you’re here for the atmosphere as much as the food. Service is friendly and efficient, even when they’re at capacity.
