Local's favorite for speciality coffee and proper breakfast

Crushed Bean is exactly the kind of independent cafe that makes Croydon worth exploring. You walk in expecting just another coffee shop, but you're hit with the smell of freshly ground beans and the sight of locals chatting over flat whites. The Bobs Breakfast Bun is a standout—generous portions, proper ingredients, and not the usual sad toast you get elsewhere. Service is warm and efficient, even when the queue stretches out the door at 8:30am on a weekday.

It's not fancy, and that's the point. You come here for quality coffee, solid food, and a genuine local vibe. The space is compact but comfortable, perfect for grabbing a coffee and a pastry before heading to Surrey Street Market or just settling in with a laptop. Weekday mornings are the time to be here—by 11am it's already buzzing with lunch crowds.
