Located on trendy Wood Street in Walthamstow, it managed to be both a proper specialty coffee spot and a welcoming community gathering place without pretension. The staff genuinely knew their regulars, dogs were welcomed by name, and the heated terrace became a popular spot for people-watching.
The menu was a standout fusion of Indian flavors and classic brunch favorites. The Mumbai Cheesy Beans on Toast was the star - thick sourdough loaded with mildly spiced tomatoey beans, melted cheese, a gooey fried egg, and crispy onions. It was comfort food elevated to an art form. The Mumbai Eggs Paratha Roll delivered smoky, well-spiced flavors with a generous tamarind and chilli aioli. Vegetarian options were plentiful and creative, though there were also straightforward options like avocado toast and peanut butter bagels for kids.
