Café Piha has carved out a solid niche in Bordeaux’s coffee scene by focusing on what really matters: great beans and proper preparation. As a roaster themselves, they control the entire process from bean to cup, which means you’re getting coffee that’s fresh and flavorful. The staff clearly know their craft, and the latte art is consistently impressive. It’s not the most atmospheric spot in the city, but if you care about your coffee more than the decor, this is where you want to be.
The food menu is small but well-executed. The passion fruit cheesecake is a standout—tangy, creamy, and not too sweet. They also do a decent selection of cakes and simple sandwiches. Hours can be a bit limited (closed Sundays), so plan accordingly. Overall, it’s a reliable spot for quality coffee without the pretension of some of the more trendy third-wave cafes.
