Barrel & Horn has carved out a nice niche in Shortlands as a pub that feels more like a local hangout than just another chain. The decor is definitely the talking point—that pink flamenco wallpaper is bold and gives the place a real personality, which you won't find everywhere. The drinks menu is solid with a good range of craft beers and cocktails, and the food is what you'd expect from a Fuller's pub: reliable pub classics done well enough to keep you coming back.
