Located right next to the zoo and under the tram lines, you might expect it to be chaotic, but instead you find a sophisticated cocktail cave that feels like a step back in time to when bars were about the drink, not the Instagram shot. The design is sleek and modern without being cold, and the staff clearly knows their stuff - they've been perfecting their craft since opening in 2015.
The cocktail menu is where this place really shines. They stick to classic formats but add their own personality to each one - the Village Manhattan with woodford reserve and talisker is perfectly balanced, while the 2666 mezcal cocktail with plum bitters is genuinely interesting without being pretentious. What really sets them apart is their commitment to quality spirits - they stock Mezan Rum (which is hard to find elsewhere in Berlin) and make their own vermouth blends. Situé juste à côté du zoo et sous les rails du tramway, on pourrait s'attendre au chaos, mais on trouve plutôt une cave à cocktails sophistiquée qui donne l'impression de remonter le temps à une époque où les bars se concentraient sur la boisson, pas sur les photos Instagram. Le design est élégant et moderne sans être froid, et le personnel maîtrise clairement son métier - ils perfectionnent leur art depuis l'ouverture en 2015.
La carte des cocktails est là où cet établissement brille vraiment. Ils s'en tiennent aux formats classiques mais ajoutent leur propre personnalité à chacun - le Village Manhattan avec du woodford reserve et du talisker est parfaitement équilibré, tandis que le cocktail 2666 au mezcal avec des bitters à la prune est vraiment intéressant sans être prétentieux.
